Production Manager

Willow Grove manufacturer is looking for a Production Manager. This Production Manager is primarily responsible for the coordination and delegation of activities for production workers engaged in material preparation and equipment operation. This is a direct-hire, full-time opportunity located in Willow Grove, PA. The salary is $75-90k/year depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  •   Coordinates planning and scheduling with the sales department. Schedules and assigns production runs.  

  •   Reads and analyzes paperwork and purchase order to verify completeness of paperwork, specifications, drawings, and instruction.

  • Participates in tooling design and implementation.

  • Follows up frequently with co-workers while job is in process to ensure that job requirements are understood and scheduled deadlines and deliveries are being met.

  • Maintains established product quality standards.  Reviews all customer’s order requirements, specifications, spectral curves, and inspection data are completed and in order.  Performs root cause analysis as needed on failures.

  • Ensures personnel compliance to all organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Participates directly in the interviewing, hiring, and training of employees.

  •   Trains and develops the production personnel in the use of machine tools, test equipment, material preparation and handling, and safety procedures.

  • Performs personnel performance reviews and provides feedback as necessary

  •   Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

  •   Resolves product, process, equipment, and personnel problems on a timely basis.

  • Maintains a safe and efficient work environment.

  • Controls/reduces costs (utilities, materials, downtime, re-work, labor efficiency).

  • Operates equipment and processes when necessary.

 

Job requirements

Education and Experience:

 

  • BS degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Material Science preferred.

  • 8+ years of experience taking a “hands-on” approach to manufacturing management and engineering.

  • Experience in SolidWorks, tooling design, and knowledge of machining and fabrication techniques.

  • Experience in equipment operation and maintenance. Background in mechanics, pneumatics, and plumbing is beneficial.

  • Experience with thin film coatings or vacuum systems is helpful.
