Millwright Mechanic

Shift: Day, Hours,  6:30 AM – 3PM
Pay Range: $26–$36/hour, depending on experience

Job Summary:

Lansdale manufacturing company is seeking a skilled Millwright Mechanic with strong welding and fabrication abilities to join the maintenance team. This position is Direct Hire/Permanent and is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment and systems related to vacuum furnaces, atmosphere furnaces, quench tanks, hoists, and loaders. The ideal candidate will also be proficient in MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding and be able to fabricate custom parts and structural components to specs or prints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, align, dismantle, and move machinery and mechanical equipment using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.

  • Occasionally perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

  • Diagnose mechanical problems and repair or replace defective parts.

  • Weld components using MIG, TIG, Stick, and/or flux-core methods as appropriate to the application.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.

  • Fabricate custom components including brackets, guards, supports, and other structural or mechanical elements.

  • Operate machine tools such as lathes, mills, and grinders to modify or fabricate parts.

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following all safety regulations and procedures.

  • Collaborate with other team members, maintenance staff, and production staff as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical school or formal apprenticeship preferred.

  • Minimum [3–5] years of experience as a millwright mechanic in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in welding and fabrication techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick, cutting torches, plasma).

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in mechanical assembly, hydraulics, pneumatics, and precision alignment.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and fabrication blueprints.

  • Familiarity with hand and power tools, rigging equipment, and machine shop equipment.

  • Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus.

  • Able to lift 60 lbs and work at heights or in confined spaces as needed.

  • Employees provide their own hand tools which are replaced by the company if damaged or broken. The company provides power tools.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

  • AWS welding certification or equivalent.

  • Experience with stainless steel welding. We make tooling out of 304, 316, and RA330 stainless steel.

  • Machining experience (lathe/mill operation).

  • Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment and basic electrical troubleshooting.
