Electronic Test Technician

The purpose of this role is to test printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), electro-mechanical sub- assemblies, and final system assemblies to confirm that desired results have been attained in accordance with HCUS electrical requirements. This is accomplished by adhering to testing procedures that are specifically defined in the bill of material. This position requires the test technician to follow assembly and test procedures to set up and operate various types of electrical test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzer, Function Generators, Volt Meters, Hi-pot Testers, as well as custom hardware and software test interfaces. In addition, this role involves troubleshooting and board level repair services of production and customer returned material, using technical drawings and schematics for guidance.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Bench level solder/desolder on PCBAs and sub-assemblies.

  • Build sub-assemblies.

  • Test all printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) that requires bench level validation.

  • Test completed sub-assemblies per procedures.

  • Perform final acceptance test (FAT) on completed systems per procedures.

  • Complete all required data forms for traceability.

  • Troubleshoot and repair nonconforming PCBA or sub-assemblies.

  • Evaluate, clean, troubleshoot, and repair customer return merchandise (RMA).

  • Assemble top level assembly in accordance with the assembly procedure.

  • Cross train on building various other electro-mechanical assemblies such as cables, electronic, and mechanical sub-assemblies as directed by the production schedule.

  • Ensure that the working area is clean by performing monthly housekeeping assignments.

  • Perform quarterly maintenance inspections on test loads and test fixtures as required.

  • Assist in building or testing prototype assemblies per engineering direction.

  • Assist in engineering experiments and additional test data collection.

  • Review pre-release procedure(s) and test software to ensure clarity, accuracy, and usability.

  • Red line assembly/test procedures to align with the current processes.

  • Solder/desolder, assemble sub-assemblies, and test completed sub-assemblies to ensure compliance.

  • Comply with all applicable U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) medical device

regulatory requirements, applicable ISO standard requirements and all other applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalence is required. Associate degree in electronic engineering or technical certification is preferred.

  • 2 - 4 years of Electro-Mechanical testing experience.

  • Proficient with using electronic test equipment.

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing principles

  • IPC 610 and 620 certifications preferred.

  • Proficient with using torque wrenches and basic hand tools.

  • Proficient with computer software packages including MS office (Excel/Word).

  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.

  • Ability to troubleshoot down to the component level.
