Customer Service Representative
The Customer Service Representative serves as the primary point of contact for customers and sales representatives, supporting order entry, quotes, and payment processing. This role is primarily office-based (approximately 90%) and provides cross-coverage support for warehouse processes (approximately 10%), including learning and assisting with barcode scanning workflows and general warehouse coordination as needed. This is a direct-hire position located in Doylestown, PA
Key Responsibilities
Answer incoming phone calls and respond to customer inquiries in a timely, professional manner.
Enter customer orders received by phone; confirm product details, pricing, and shipping information.
Generate and send quotes requested by sales representatives and customers; track quote status and follow up as needed.
Process credit card payments in accordance with company procedures.
Use Excel worksheets to support customer service workflows (e.g., tracking, reporting, data entry, and process documentation).
Enter purchase orders and coordinate follow-up with vendors to support fulfillment and customer needs.
Learn and support warehouse barcode scanning processes to assist with order fulfillment and inventory-related workflows when coverage is needed (approximately 10% of the role).
Maintain general warehouse process knowledge to provide backup support and coordinate with warehouse staff as needed.
Process sample requests and wet lab requests, coordinating with internal teams to ensure accurate handling and timely completion.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in customer service, order entry, inside sales support, or a related role.
Comfortable handling a high volume of phone-based customer interactions.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy with order processing and data entry.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn new systems and workflows quickly.
Clear written and verbal communication skills; professional, customer-first mindset.
Ability to work cross-functionally with sales, warehouse, and lab/operations teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience processing credit card payments and/or purchase orders.
Experience generating customer quotes and supporting a sales team.
Familiarity with warehouse operations, barcode scanning, and order fulfillment processes.
Experience supporting sample requests and/or working with laboratory or biomedical environments (preferred, not required).
Experience using an ERP/CRM system (e.g., order management or customer database tools).
Work Environment:
This position is primarily office-based. Occasional time in the warehouse may be required for cross-coverage support, including learning barcode scanning workflows and assisting with coordination as needed. Candidates should be comfortable moving between office and warehouse settings.
